Mercredi 20 novembre 2024, le Dr Pascal Berto de l’Institut de la Vision à Paris donnera un séminaire intitlué « Novel approaches for wavefront shaping, imaging and multiplexing » en salle Pierre Cotton du laboratoire.
Résumé : The advent of spatially-resolved techniques to control and image the phase of light waves has profoundly transformed photonics. In this talk, I will first present a wavefront-shaping concept in which the phase of the transmitted light can be precisely engineered at the micro-scale by using the thermo-optical effect. I will show how this simple concept can complement the existing optical shaping toolbox by offering reconfigurable, broadband, polarization-insensitive and transmission-mode micro-components. In a second part, I will describe how a high-resolution wavefront sensor can be implemented by exploiting the large “memory effect” of thin diffusers. Beyond providing cost-effective quantitative phase imaging, the unique signature of speckle patterns enables the multiplexing of multiple wavefronts arriving with different incidence angles or wavelengths.
