A technical team organised in two axes, Instrumentation and Components, working closely with the Institute’s research teams.
Instrumentation axis Imaging · Power photonics

Sébastien MAILFERT, PhD
Facility manager · CNRS research engineer
With a PhD in Systems Electronics (Université Montpellier 2, 2006), he managed instrumentation and methodology platforms at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy. Since 2023, he has been running the Institut Fresnel platform for imaging and power photonics: management, instrument development, quality and training.

Jean-Jacques HONORINE
AMU engineering assistant
With a research master’s degree in microelectronics, he has been developing software modules for instrument control at the Institut Fresnel since 2018, mainly with LabVIEW.

Enzo ROMAGNE
Engineer · Institut Carnot STAR – AMU
With master’s degrees in neuroscience and computer science, he joined the platform in 2026. He runs initial acquisition tests on samples from internal and external partners: sample preparation, acquisition, preprocessing and analysis when needed.
Components axis Optical thin films

Antonin MOREAU, PhD
Facility manager · CNRS research engineer
After two years in the semiconductor industry in South Korea, a PhD in thin-film photovoltaics (Aix-Marseille, 2013) and post-docs in optical instrumentation, he has been working at the Institut Fresnel since 2017 on the modelling and characterisation of complex optical filters. He manages the clean room and the vacuum deposition equipment.
