Adrien Rousseau, from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), will give a seminar entitled Engineering excitons at the nanoscale: from 2D materials to light-harvesting proteins on Friday, October 30th at 09:30 p.m. in our Pierre Cotton’s room, Institut Fresnel, Campus St Jérôme, Marseille.
Abstract : Excitons are fundamental quasiparticles that govern light–matter interactions and energy transport across both quantum materials and biological systems. In this talk, I will show how advanced optical microscopy reveals the fundamental relationship between nanoscale structure and exciton dynamics in hexagonal boron nitride and light-harvesting proteins, uncovering universal principles that govern excitonic behavior across disparate material platforms.
The seminar is free and open to everybody.
