The 18 Aix-Marseille Université institutes are the result of an interdisciplinary approach based on the university’s reserach units and faculties, as well as its socio-economic partners, to strenghten its international outreach.

MarMaRa is one of Aix-Marseille Université institutes for research and education.
AMU institutes aim at developing interdisciplinary training and research, by gathering cutting edge research and faculties and the involvement of socio-economic partners, to strengthen its international outreach.
To that end, the MarMaRa institute is gathering research laboratories (13 laboratories at present), medical departments, educational teams and industrial partners, around cross-cutting actions, to develop cutting-edge research for the benefit of rare diseases patients. By federating new stakeholders, the MarMaRa institute seeks to promote multidisciplinary research and training in connection with the local and international socio-economic and cultural ecosystems of the field of rare diseases.
