Photoacoustic and Thermoacoustic Tomography

Lundi 30 Mars 2020 à 11h00 Huabei Jiang de l’Université de Floride, USA, donnera un séminaire intitulé : "Photoacoustic and Thermoacoustic Tomography : High-resolution Imaging of Optical and Electrical Properties of Tissue using Electromagnetic Wave-induced Ultrasound"

Résumé :
In this talk, I will describe the fundamental principles of two emerging electromagnetic wave-based imaging modalities including laser-induced photoacoustic tomography (PAT) and microwave-induced thermoacoustic tomography (TAT) for in vivo visualization of tissue optical and electrical properties at both the macroscopic and microscopic scales. In my laboratory these imaging technologies have been developed to detect tumors, guide cancer therapies, probe inflammations, or map brain activities. I will report on our most recent clinical and preclinical studies in some of these areas.
