Recent developments allow us to extend the field of investigation of whole body 3D molecular imaging to inflammation and infectious diseases. The indications for this imaging range from diagnosis to evaluation of the early metabolic response under treatment and the risks of recurrence, the aim being to optimize and adapt individualized care as much as possible.
