Since the 1990s, the scientific literature has been considerably enriched by the identification of dysfunctional brain circuits underlying psychiatric and neurological pathologies. The parallel development of functional/molecular imaging techniques and invasive or non-invasive stimulation methods has established the neuro-modulatory action of electrical stimulation on neuronal plasticity and the organization of these networks, and to specify the clinical use of these therapeutic approaches (definition of targets, selection of patients, therapeutic follow-up).
