About me

Dr. Ali Khalighi received the PhD degree from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG), France, and currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Ecole Centrale Med and the Fresnel Institute research lab, Marseille, France.

He has supervised several MSc and PhD students and has published extensively in leading journals and major conference proceedings in the areas of communication theory, channel modeling, optical wireless communications (OWC), wireless sensor and body-area networks, cooperative and multi-user communications, as well as AI-based and bio-inspired optimization methods. His current research focuses on OWC-based underwater and non-terrestrial networks, as well as quantum-secure communications.

Dr. Khalighi has served on the Organizing and Technical Program Committees of numerous IEEE conferences. He was also Editor-at-Large on Optical Communications for the IEEE Transactions on Communications from 2019 to 2024, and a Guest Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society and Elsevier Optik. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
