The Institute is composed of 10 research teams working on meta-materials, photonic crystals, laser damaging, light scattering, image analysis, statistical optics, bio-photonics, non-linear microscopy, micro-wave imaging, high resolution imagery, optical filtering, multi-layer coatings fabrication technologies, processing of multidimensional signals, biometry…
The majority of its permanent members are associated with institutions of higher education in Marseille (Aix Marseille University, Ecole Centrale, Polytechnique...).The Laboratory also coordinates an Erasmus Mundus Europhotonics Master and Doctorate program.
